Homemade Fruit Snacks!

83. Try a new recipe every month(3/33)

I know I already posted a new recipe for August, but I am so excited about these that I had to post a special edition, extra recipe! This month's extra special new recipe is....

Homemade Jello Fruit Snacks!

They were so easy to make, look adorable, and taste fantastic. I found the recipe on pinterest from http://www.sixsistersstuff.com/2012/06/homemade-jello-fruit-snacks-recipe.html.

I used two candy molds after reading in the comments that the smaller the mold, the better they turn out. Here is the recipe:

1 (3 oz) package of gelatin (we used strawberry Jello)
2 (.25 oz) packets of unflavored gelatin
1/3 cup of water

Add the water to a small pan. Sprinkle the gelatin over the water and stir over medium heat until the gelatin dissolves completely. (I didn't time it but it probably took about 5 minutes) Pour into molds and let sit on the counter for about 20 minutes or until they set completely.

*I poured my mix into a glass liquid measuring cup for easier pouring into the molds.

Enjoy!

64. Go to the zoo once a month for a year (3/33)

Another awesome trip to the zoo. We showed up early at 8:30AM again to be the first in the zoo with other zoo members. It is always worth it because the animals all seem to be out and about and active this early in the morning. Because we always seem to start to the left and never quite make it to the primates and animals in that direction, that was where we started. The lions were out and showing off. They even got up and walked around so C could see them.

Next we stopped by the kangaroos where C got to see them hopping around and followed that up with a visit to the home of the Cheetahs. C's yelling and whining caught their attention and one of the cheetahs started stalking him.

Next we went over to the bears who we have not seen for a few visits. They were also out walking around and posing for pictures.

Finally we made it to the Primate Panorama where our friends met up with us. The boys had fun running around and fit right in with the monkeys. I'm pretty sure the gorilla is C's new favorite animal. The male gorilla would randomly run around in their exhibit and stick his face (or other end) right in front of the glass. C didn't want to leave so it took some coaxing to get him away.

87. Learn how to make an omelet

Saturday morning E and I made an omelet using this recipe as a guide with a few modifications. If you know me, you know that I do not do bacon, so we used cut up breakfast sausage links instead. We also substituted soy milk for the milk so E could eat it. It was pretty easy to make and turned out pretty well. It was kind of huge though and could easily feed more than two people.
